Everyday moments, memories and the story of Jungle Passion Lodge, from the first building work to today.
The year 2025 has come to an end, and we look back with great gratitude.
For two years now, we have had the pleasure of sharing the Jungle Passion Lodge with you. We would like to sincerely thank all our guests who have experienced this little paradise with us — for your visits, your openness, and the many wonderful moments we shared.
We wish you a joyful start to the new year 2026, filled with health, happiness, and special experiences.
Pura Vida and see you soon,
Anita and Pirmin
The Green Season Has Begun!
The rainy season – affectionately known as the "temporada verde" – has arrived, marking the end of the peak travel season in Costa Rica.
We would like to sincerely thank all our wonderful guests who chose our lodge as one of their travel destinations during the past season. It was a pleasure having you here!
Even during the off-season, a visit is absolutely worth it. The vegetation becomes even more lush and colorful, the wildlife is especially active, and experiencing a rainforest downpour is truly captivating – especially when you can watch and listen to it comfortably from the dry terrace.
Our lodge will be closed in September and October, but for the rest of the year, we look forward to sharing our little paradise with you.
See you soon at the Jungle Passion Lodge!
Anita and Pirmin
With so many wonderful memories, enriching encounters, and countless new experiences, we look back on our first year in business with gratitude.
We are beyond excited for the upcoming high season and wish you all a joyful holiday season!
We hope to welcome you soon to the Jungle Passion Lodge.
Best regards,
Anita and Pirmin
Rainy Season in Ojochal
September and October are the rainiest months...
However, this doesn't mean it rains all day. Mornings are often beautiful and sunny, with the rain starting in the afternoons, sometimes quite heavily, accompanied by thunder and lightning.
There are only a few days throughout the year when we don't see the sun at all.
So, if you're someone who likes to plan activities in the morning, enjoys the afternoon/evening from the balcony, wants to experience the rainforest in the rain, can handle the occasional power outage, loves having the beaches almost to yourself, or wants to spot humpback whales up close – you'll still have an amazing time in Costa Rica during this time of year.
Off-season at Jungle Passion Lodge - what are we up to during this time?
We certainly won't be getting bored 😄
With almost daily short bursts of rain, the plants are growing rapidly - you can practically watch them grow... This allows us to finally green up the last remaining bare spots.
Of course, everything else is growing quickly too, including what we'd rather not see, so there's plenty of work pulling weeds and trimming back the jungle. There's also lots to do in the office: advertising, networking, increasing our social media reach, and more.
We also use this quieter time for larger shopping trips, exploring the area, and simply enjoying nature...
Pura Vida!
In the first nearly 4 months of our "hosting career," we have already had the opportunity to learn a lot and experience many exciting encounters...
Since we relied on spontaneous bookings, don't have many reviews on online platforms yet, and our lodge is still not widely known, we naturally had a fair amount of available capacity...
Nevertheless, for the reasons mentioned, we are satisfied and grateful for 88 booked nights...
Now, we are looking forward to the so-called "off-season"...
We wish everyone a happy Easter
Your Jungle Passion Lodge
We hope you all had a great start to the new year.
Here, the dry season is now in full swing, so we can make improvements to the rainwater drainage around the houses before the next rainy season...
We are now welcoming more and more guests and sharing our little paradise with them...
When time allows, we also like to go on excursions and discover many new fun, exciting, adventurous, tasty, or beautiful ways to spend time in our surroundings...
Highly recommended, for example, are the ATV Jungle Tour in Uvita or the "cult bar" Jolly Rogers in Escaleras...
Merry X-Mas

The Finishing Touch! The lodge is being beautified with plants.
